The 12 Laws of Karma

What Is Karma

We always heard the phrase “What goes around comes around.” The law of karma is a Buddhist concept that connects the past to the present and vice versa. People who live their lives in the past will always have a foot in the past and a mind focused on the future. This means that you are never really in the present. Rather, you should embrace the present moment and use it to change your life. Ultimately, the law of karma is all about choice, just per Newton’s Law of Motion. “For every action, there is an equal or opposite reaction.”

The Law of Cause and Effect

This is the foundation law of Karma. It highlighted that whenever we exhibit a force in thought, word, or action, that energy will come back to us – be it positive or negative. If you are looking to excel in life, start building good deeds merits for yourself today and be deserving of the fruits in future. To put it in a simple form “You reap what you sow”, whatever you put out into the Universe will eventually come back to you.

The Law of Creation

Based on the Karmic Law of Creation, Life requires our participation to happen. It does not happen by itself. If you want to be successful in life, your affirmation action is vital, your goal without actions is only a dream. Ask yourself what you need and what to let go of. Surrounding yourself with what and who you want to be to bring yourself a step closer to what you desire. Identify how exactly your talents can be used to provide something beneficial for people around you.

The Law of Humility

If you think it is your prerogative to decide your destiny and fate is in your hand, you might want to give it a second thought. According to the law of Karma, we humans should not be too arrogant and egoistic. The refusal to acknowledge the fact that everything that they encounter now is the repercussion of their past deeds is the main hindrance to focusing on a higher level of existence.

If all one sees is based on his perception with “I” as the main source, he will then trap in his paradigm and eventually out of step with reality. He will see anyone who disagrees with him as a challenge or the enemy thus resulting in his failure to carry out his duties to the full potential.

The Law of Growth

“Don’t expect the world around you to change to your desire,” It is we, who must change to suit the environment. If we want a peaceful and loving world, we need to get started from within ourselves. This is because growth starts with ourselves and not others around us. At the end of the day, we should be our only focus and not other people and their actions. When we change who and what we are within our hearts, our lives follow suit and change too.

The Law of Responsibility

We are told that one is responsible for whatever one’s experiences in life. “If there is something wrong in one’s life, there is something wrong in them.” This law ensures we stop blaming others or things as the root of our problems and start understanding that there are repercussions and consequences in every decision that we have made in life. One must take responsibility for what is in one’s life.

The Law of Connection

Everything in the universe is deeply intertwined. Each occurrence led to one and others and the cycle goes on. The Law of Connection revolves around the belief that all phases of your life including your life history, your present state right now, and what is to come, are interconnected. Everything that you experience today is a consequence of your intentions and actions in the past and your deeds today will determine the outcome of your future.

The Law of Focus

According to this law, our mind cannot think of two things at the same time. Therefore, it is important to focus on a single thing at a time, so that we are less likely to be distracted by those heavy feelings such as regret, anger, or greed and concentrate on the higher wisdom of peace and love. When we focus our feelings on peace and love, it allows us to be spiritually aligned and when we are well aligned, there will be no room left in the mind or heart for negative energy that doesn’t serve our mind, body and spirit.

The Law of Hospitality and Giving

This law put one to the test of what they CLAIM to have learned into PRACTICE. If you believe in selfless kindness and generosity, then be selflessly kind and generous to all beings and if you want to see a world connected in compassion and love, then spread this love and compassion and become connected to all. Let your actions reflect your deepest and truest beliefs.

The Law of Here and Now

Embracing the present moment we are living in and truly appreciating what life has offered us. If you want to know your past life, look at how you live now and if you are seeking to know the future, it depends on what you have done. One cannot make progress in life if one keep dwelling in the past. Hanging on to those old thoughts and patterns of behaviours prevent one from having new ones.

The Law of Change

I believed you have come across this phrase “history repeats itself.” According to this law, history will keep repeating itself until you have learned the lessons you are meant to learn and have taken actionable steps to change the course. Change can be quite daunting sometimes, but it allows you to start on a new path and a chance to experience the joy of rediscovering and growing. Just avoid falling back to the vicious patterns from the past.

The Law of Patience and Reward

There is no such thing as an overnight success. All Rewards require patience and perseverance, be consistent in your actions and intentions, knowing that the results will come in when time is ripped and you will achieve what you want in life.  Learn to enjoy the journey with your purpose and passion, knowing that you are on the path where you’re meant to be in this moment.

The Law of Inspiration and Importance

We are all part of the highest good of the world. You might think you are too insignificant to make any difference, that is where you are terribly wrong. When you put your whole heart and soul into something and contribute your gifts and talents with wholehearted love, you are creating a ripple effect that you probably can’t even see. You are lifting others and inspiring the whole. These little acts may seem nothing to you, but they can make a huge difference in someone else’s life. The positive energy you are giving will one day return to you in ways that you can’t even imagine.
