Getting Out Of A Rut

YOU Are The Reason

Are you in a situation where you are ready to take control of your own life? Are you tired of feeling like you’ve been in a never-ending conflict with yourself? You feel like you’re surviving rather than living and everything seems to go against you, you could not hang on for long. The fact that you are actually feeding on those negatives energy and self-pity to fuel you instead of the positives and encouragement vibes. You are literally creating a demon inside you and letting it control your mind and ruin your life. The only thing in the world that is holding you back from achieving greatness is in fact “You”.

If you have this mentality, you’ll never achieve any form of greatness in life and it can be dangerous to your mental health. Don’t be despair. There is always hope and ways that you can get out of this dreadful situation and start living the life you truly desire. Let’s explore what it takes to get out of this rut.

How Deep Have You sunken In Your Rut

Everyone has their own unique experiences and situations. Some people, perhaps are more optimistic tend to put themselves back on track easier. These people are open-minded and willing to heed advice and criticism from people who are close to them, they try to make changes and adjustments in that direction, accepting new challenges and quickly get back on their feet.

However, others may not come to the sense of realisation that they are trapped in the rut and immersed in their own denial. By the time they figure out, it could be serval years gone. This could be quite a challenge to change the course back to the direction that they’re wanting to go… In this case, seeking help from professionals will vastly aid on the road to recovery.

When you first notice the feeling of a lack of happiness with one’s life; drifting aimlessly just going through motion in whatever thing you are doing and life is stagnant. That is the time where you should hold onto that feeling and starts to evaluate it. Ask yourself, “How long has this feeling been going on? Is this something that has recently appeared or is this something that you have been dealing with for quite some time but is only now noticing? More importantly, what type of feelings are being brought about with this shift in thinking?”

It is important to identify those feeling as some people may present themselves to be successful and happy but underneath could be dealing with a major mental health issue such as depression. If depression is not dealt with, it will manifest through every part of your life; a lack of interest in daily activities, fatigue; feelings of hopelessness and sadness and avoidance of work and other responsibilities.

Discontent Segment In Life

While you might recognize that you are stuck in a rut, the fear of the need and effort to revamp your whole life is beyond imagination, but that is not always the case. The main objective is to fine-tune the targeted segment that is required to improve upon in order to experience balance in all aspects of your life.

Some people may feel stressed, frustrated, trapped and stagnant in their work but perfectly alright in relationships with family and friends. Vice versa, some may feel stuck in a rut in personal lives and may be very happy with the progress that they have made in their professional lives.

Regardless of whether external factors or your individual issue, you need to fully examine and understand your current life situation to identify the lack in what you need. The Wheel of Life coaching tool is one of an option you can use as a guide, it is based on the notion that there are specific categories—or so-call Areas of Focus—that form the cornerstone of your overall life experience.

The Wheel of Life categories include:

Health: Your physical health and well-being (can also include your emotional health).

Relationships: Includes your primary intimate relationship, family, and friends.

Social: Includes religious/spiritual communities and other group activities.

Financial: Your ability to manage your money effectively, save, budget, and invest.

Professional/Business: This is refer to your work or career.

Personal Growth: Although not everyone might have an Area of Focus for personal development, anyone interested in Self-Actualization does.

Spirituality: This can be its own category or simply the driving force behind all of your Areas of Focus.

Take some time to go through the list, take note of which categories you need to improve and jot down whatever ideas and visions that make you happiest along with the ways. Use those references when you are working toward your goal.

One Small Step At A Time

Give yourself some time, don’t expect to change your life overnight. If you are pushing too hard on yourself, stress and frustration will consume you just as much as being in a rut.

Setting smaller goals that are easier to achieve such as adopting a new hobby, breaking a bad habit or as simple as making more time for yourself. From there, gradually go for the larger goal, remember to review the progress from time to time, make sure to keep on track with specific end goals and the established time frames. Be mindful in your daily life so that you don’t end up drifting throughout your days and ending back where you are at the current moment!

Final Thoughts

Everyone experiences a rut at some point in their lives. Everything is temporary, the storm will be over in no time. Now, most important is how life goes from here, make the right decision so that you can live the life that you want to lead in the future
